The birth of your child is a huge moment in your life.

Everything changes when you have a little person to look after.

These tiny little bundles do not stay tiny for long though and in a few weeks their little fingers and toes will be that much bigger and their first baby-gro you spent hours choosing will be too small.

If there was ever the perfect time to book that family photoshoot you have been thinking about it is now!

As a new mother the thought of being in front of a camera when you’ve just spent hours in labour, have had little or no sleep and are still carrying most of your baby weight probably fills you with horror. Believe me, I’ve been there! It is important to remember though, when your child grows up they’re going to want to see how tiny they were. They’re going to want to witness that intense love that you had for them from the start. They won’t see the tired eyes and rounded tummy, they’ll see the wonder and love in those eyes and the way you held them tight. They’ll see the connection between their parents as they gaze in wonder at this incredible person they created.

It is this that makes investing in a photoshoot such a precious gift not just to yourself but for your child.

My shoots are not just about creating beautiful portraits of your baby on their own. They are about capturing moments of bliss. Recording the connection you have as parents with your baby. Illustrating how much the love of a child can transform a person.

My aim as a newborn photographer is simple. To capture you and your baby in the most natural way possible. It is about noticing the details. How tiny their feet are, how it takes their whole hand to clasp the tip of one of your fingers. How they fit so easily on your forearm. The way their little nose creases when they yawn. For me it is not about stylised poses and lots of props. Simplicity is the essence of my photography.

Your enjoyment of the shoot is as important to me as the final set of images. This is why I come to your house, bringing everything with me to ensure you have a relaxed, stress-free time. You will not have to think of anything but interacting with your new little baby.

A newborn photographer will often say that the best time to photograph your newborn is when they are between 5-12 days old as this is when they are most sleepy and ‘posable’. Whilst this is true I have done numerous shoots with babies when they are a few weeks old and still get beautiful images. The photos below are of babies from 5 days to 3 months.
