I love autumn. Stepping outside and photographing families among the rich, golden colours that this season brings puts a smile on my face every time. But despite the lure of the great outdoors, home photoshoots can be equally as enjoyable! Keeping cosy and warm indoors especially with young babies is the perfect antidote to the chilly weather outside. The home photoshoot for this gorgeous family in Muswell Hill was no exception.

I first met Claire whilst working for North London post-natal group Nurturing Mums after she’d just had Theo. At the time Claire was still coming to terms with finding out her baby had downs syndrome and was battling feelings of despair and worry for the path that lay ahead. 

Fast forward 3 years and you couldn’t meet a happier family. Theo is flourishing and Claire can’t believe how lucky she is to have him in their lives! A gorgeous happy little chap full of laughter and adoration for his equally gorgeous baby brother Freddie. 

This shoot was an absolute joy. For me it sums up everything a family shoot should be. Capturing a really special time in your lives and making memories that will be looked back at with happiness in years to come. I love to record the connection between siblings and families. The energy and happiness that this family displayed throughout their shoot was contagious. It was made even more special when compared to the worry of just a few years ago.
