I hope everyone is having a great start to the year. After a lovely festive break I am looking forward to an exciting year of photography ahead!
January kicked off for me with a request from a lovely mother in North London looking for a photographer to capture her two amazing teenagers with her using a studio style set-up.
My style of shooting is very natural and I love to capture children and families at play and having fun either in the great outdoors or around their house. I find studio shoots can take away this spontaneity and immediately make a photo more formal. I do, however, sometimes have requests for a studio style shoot and I am very happy to oblige if I can especially when the weather outside is freezing and staying indoors is the better option!
I’m not a fan of flash lighting preferring the soft, flattering look of natural light and so I keep to natural light both in my headshot sessions and in a studio style set up.
This shoot took place in the comfort of the client’s home using a portable backdrop and a large window! The client wanted black and white or subdues colours. I couldn’t decide which I preferred and so I created their gallery with both potions and left the decision making to them!
Here are some of the results.
If you have been thinking of having some photos done of your family please do get in touch to discuss the right kind of shoot for you, I’d love to hear from you!
