Newborn photographer Queens Park

My photo shoots are very relaxed, informal and fun. They take place where your children are generally at their most comfortable – your home or a park. Each session lasts approximately 60 minutes but if we need a bit longer I am more than happy to stay on. The majority of my family portrait sessions take place at the weekend when both hardworking parents are around but I am also available in the week if that is preferable.

I will be in touch a week prior to your shoot to talk through the session and answer any questions you may have.

If your photo shoot is taking place at your house the first thing I will do is have a look round the whole house to identify the best locations to shoot. I use natural light for my photography and so will tend to use the rooms with the most amount of light. Please be aware I will sometimes need to move things around a bit. After this I will simply run around with the kids, have fun and take lots of lovely photos (asking mum and dad to join in at some point too of course!)

I often get asked this question and my main bit of advice is to be comfortable! As you will see in my gallery my shoots are very relaxed so casual clothing is normally most fitting but avoid big logos that may distract and date your images. Make sure your colours complement each other but you don’t need to be matching and accessories look great in pictures so get out your bright jewellery, scarves etc! For more advice on what to wear please click here http://www.felicitylassphotography.co.uk/wear-family-photoshoot/

I will provide you with at least 30 carefully selected and processed images of your session, in both colour and black and white, which will be published on my password protected gallery within one week of the shoot. You will be able to select favourites and place any orders directly though my website for up to 3 weeks after your photo shoot.

The best time to photograph your brand new bundle of loveliness is between days 5 and 9 as this is when your baby is sleepiest and most posable. If your baby is older please give a call to discuss the type of shoot that can be achieved. My newborn shoots can take anything between 2 – 4 hours, I don’t like to rush the shoot and the pace is very much set by the baby (!) I will come to your home for the shoot, will bring everything that’s needed with me and will use the room with the most natural light so may need to move things around a bit when I arrive. As daddy is most likely still at home during the 1st 2 weeks after your baby is born I like to do my newborn shoots in the week leaving my weekends free for family portrait sessions.

As with my family shoots your maternity shoot takes place in your house or local park. The best time to have a maternity shoot is around 34 weeks and I will take stylish and flattering photos of your amazing bump with your partner and other children if applicable. The session is then followed up a few weeks later when baby has arrived. Please look at my prices page for details of the bump to baby package.
